Vicky, Thank you so much for the photo of Nancy. It's nice to see a Dakota tradiitional dress too! After all these years of genealogy and tryiing to straighten out her children and husbands it's great to see what she looked like. Pretty lady! I always thought she must've had something going for her. Thanks again. Wanbliho

You are so welcome. I always have thought this family so interesting. I have a distant connection through my LaCroix line (through Oliver). I don't envy anyone who has had to figure out all of the Mary's/ husbands/ and children of each. I still have to check my notes occasionally to figure out which Mary is which. :-)

I just ran across an image of an old marriage certificate for Mary Myrick and she lists her parents as Andrew Myrick and Nancy Robertson?? was this a mistake in Nancy's surname? (I thought to myself) and then I ran across the post from "wanbliho" about trying to straighten out all of Nancy's children and husbands. Who was Nancy Robertson's husband at the time of this marriage certificate? Was it Angus Robertson?
Thanks Beth Robertson

PS The picture of Nancy looks just like my great grandmother Ida Shortfoot Mahpiyahotanka, who married Thomas Anderson Robertson and her sister was Nancy Mahpiyahotanka who married Thomas's brother Angus Robertson

Hi Beth, It is generally believed that the Robertson name is a mistake on that marriage record. I have found no record of any marriage to a Robertson for Nancy. Merry Christmas!

Hey Beth, Angus Robertson married Nancy Tasinasawin (Her red shawl) on 2-1-1883. From the Iapi Oaye, March, 1883, p. 21: (Roughly translated) Sisseton Agency, DT Feb. 1, 1883 at Mayasan Church. Concerning Mr. Angus M. Robertson and Miss Nancy Tasinasawin, Iyasamani's daughter, were married. Rev. David Grey Cloud officiated. i119.photobucket.com/albums/o134/vickyvalenta/misc/angusrobertsonmarriage.jpg

My name is Rachel. I am in possession of the baptism record of Rosalie Bluestone. The church document states that Stroup Rosa (Marchal) AD 1880 26 Octobris baptizari infantum natavi die 23 Octobris of auv E (or fancy and sign) cauf Thoma Stroup (act, ET Louisa Robertson. Patrini Rosa Contourier et Maria Coutourie pro Hyacynths Coutourier. Rev Sandmeyer I had read somewhere that Robinson had come out of Robertson as a name. It did not describe much more. Has anyone heard of this?
